Summary

I think there are two options in classifying this game, one is highly addictive and the other is amazing. I give this game 9.5 because I've been playing games all my life, I love the Halos and the Gears of Wars and all that, but there aren't many games of this type for the 360, those dumb silly games like Super Mario Bros that relax you, games that you play just to have fun, not playing against other players and being tense like Halo online or something like that, this is game is pure fun, I missed games like this. This is a SUPERB game for the little ones and a SUPERB game for the teen and old ones, it is very rewarding to start hearing more music as you color the city or the islands, and its very fun to play with another person in blob party. I don't recommend playing coop very much because for the player two may be boring, pinky just shoots paint at enemys or at you to color you again, so its like coop for Super Mario Galaxy, boring after some time. That is why this game is a 9.5 and not a 10. There are not many games of this type for the 360 that are this enjoyable so I HIGHLY recommend this one, believe me you are gonna have tons of fun. Hope this helped you make the right choice.

de blob 2 is a very unique gaming experience ,you will enjoy it,and probably have dreams about it ,i did .there is some unique platforming that was missing from todays games ,a few drawbacks clumsy camera and lack of multiplayer,it has some interesting boss fights and a good story with great cutscenes that will keep you entertained for a good 10 hours if you dont stray from main course .a must buy for a true gamer.

Summary

First Impression:the first impression was actually a good one,it felt very much real and all the colours matched perfectly although it was a bit weird controling something that doesnt really have a real shape feels very strange because it is just a blob.

The Good:
i played this game all the way till the very end and i have to say i really liked most of the things it had to offer.you see kids and nearly everybody likes to colour things, that dont have colour on
them, such as a drawing on a piece of paper or for example a room that has no colour what so ever.
in this game you are given a chance to colour and paint everything that has not got colour on em,you start as a small blob, and you work your way up in order to beat some kind of a monster that wants to dominate the world and make people sad and miserable,by not giving them any colours in their life.amazing story isnt it?i wonder why the bad guy is in a military suit and has one eye.
the levels are not so challenging at first and are very easy and fun.you go around trying to find your way to the next area.and trying to release colours into world as you go further.
one thing here worth mentioning is that you have the ability to upgrade yourself, you can make the size of the blob bigger, you can upgrade the staring lives that you have and so on,this is a good thing.
when you play the game all the way, you will understand that this is a huge game, the size of the levels keep getting bigger and bigger and the levels get more difficult and more challenging and its perfect in that way.it will really take along time trying to beat the game and this also helps people remember more fun moments in the game.
there are other collectables you can find during the game some are crucial for the upgrade and some are just there for the sake of having fun.
you cant just play for hours and hours, you have been given a limited time in order to finish each level, but then again you can earn time by colouring, well this can be good because it helps the player understand that you might be wasting time and you need to play the game better and faster,to get the best gameplay.
another good feature i found in de blob 2 is the little levels that you have to go underground they look very very good, awsome to have those kinds of levels.
other tools will be unlocked and showed to you in your adventure such as a shield that protects you from the enemies.also after you clean most part of the level with colors it is very peaceful to
go and take a look at what you have done,it gives you such an amazing feeling.

The Bad:
ok you control a blob and this blob does not go any faster than that speed, that can get really frustrating.sometimes during the game you cannot be bothered to colour any other side missions
and you will find your self looking for exit, and trying to beat that certain level as fast as you can.
the controling of the blob is really a bad one, sometimes when you wanna jump from here to there, you will miss that jump and need to go with your slow blob all the way back up to try again
for the jump.
the mixing of the colours to get the right one,is also frustrating sometimes because again, you and your slow blob have to go and find certain colours to match the right one,you see all the
problems go to the speed of the blob.it would have been very good if you could for example sprint or something to at least go bit faster at somepoint during the game.
finding all the light bulbs is ridiculous, since some of them are inside boxes and are very rare and time wasters, and time is an issue here.
as i said in the good parts of the review about time limits that can be good ,i can simply say it can also be bad as well, you might want to collect all the collectibles in the game but you dont want to colour all the levels and get more time by that.again time issue is a problem here.
ok,now seeing all those colours with moving little characters that are also coated with one specific colour, does
hurt your eyes, seriously too much colors from different varieties does make your eyes a bit more tired, they should have done something like a mini game or a break level or a bonus level to
exercise the eye.

The Outcome:i think the game is very unique. The idea of it is also very unique and it does work,it has a taste of comedy among it and can be tiring for some reason but then again is very fun and addictive.

and amazing to experience.

Summary

This is most likely a game designed for younger audiences and for them, this game would probably be pretty amazing, but for those of us who have played way too many repetitive games, this game will be a bit of a let down. The storyline is very minimal and characterization is as well and so the immersion level matches that. It's sort of a Super Mario Sunshine knock off for the Xbox, only there are none of the memorable and lovable characters from the Mario series here. The main gameplay is decent, don't get me wrong, but the extras and tedious and extremely boring. I got this game from Gamefly and found myself never really wanting to play it, so I think I'm just going to send it back for something more interesting. It is just a little too small for a full blown Xbox game I think. If it had been like a $10 XBLA download then maybe I could see it, but as it stands, it's a sort of good time waster, but nothing you will really look forward to playing.

Gameplay - Good
Graphics - Good
Sound - Bad
Overall - Worth playing for cue sport enthusiasts.

Summary

I have the 2007 version of this game which is decent but definitely needed a lot of work. I bought this game hoping that a lot of that work would be done. In the graphics department its job done. The tables and balls are quite impressive although the same cannot be said for the characters which are a bit blocky looking still.

In the sound department I cant hear any difference between this game and the 2007 version, which is very disappointing. When you consider there have also been a couple of more recent versions of the game since 2007, its ridiculous that the sounds haven't been updated. The commentary is just stupid drivvle with no reference to the match you are playing at all. The crowd over react to quite insignificant shots which is off putting. The sound of the shots being taken are all the same whether the ball is hit hard or soft.

The gameplay is good once your in a match. The aiming system is very helpful for beginners and in general its fun to play snooker and 8 ball pool. Unfortunately they have left out 9 ball pool. There should be a 9 ball season to go along with the snooker season and 8 ball season. The snooker season is quite good as it has all the real tournaments and a world ranking system and several types of stats relating to your general play on the table. The 8 ball season on the other hand seems to be just one tournament, as far as I can see, and there is no mention of quarter finals, semi finals or final, just round 1, round 2 etc. This is not realistic and doesn't help with building a sense of climax towards the end of the tournament. I won the 8 ball tournament on the first go so now Ive no reason to go back to it. A season with one tournament cannot be called a season. Correct me if I'm wrong about this please.

My general feeling after playing this game and the 2007 version is that they've just taken the 2007 game and shined some things up a bit, but a lot of the things that were wrong with the 2007 game are still wrong with this one. The sound is the same, the ranking system is exactly the same including your starting rank (52) and the amount of points you start on (39,650 I think) and they've even taken out the pool ranking! This type of thing just makes it blatantly obvious that the makers haven't put enough effort into it. Another thing, after you line up your shot and press x your character then proceeds to take the shot, which is fine, but no matter what type of spin you put on the cue ball he always lines up aiming right at the top of the cue ball. This is inaccurate and off putting. Of the game makers, it seems like there were some people involved who knew just a little about the world of cue sports, but they didn't know a lot about what gamers expect when it comes to the menus and options part of a sports game. Check out the Tiger Woods golf games, there are tonnes of options and the menus flow a lot better.

I was disappointed overall but gave it 6/10 because of the graphics upgrade and it would be decent for newcomers who haven't played the previous versions, but it does seem half assed.
