Summary

A good game, but very short and easy. I like the action and the plattforming is very responsive for a mobile game. I only have one complaint or question really. I have an LGc2000 and am with Cingular, so why does the game not look as good, have some of the special moves shown in the images? I can understand my phone not being able to handle the games, but it not having really anything in common with the game reviewed here except the title screen WTF? If any one knows plz tell me. You should still get this game 'casue it's really good!

Fun game, a bit too short & hard to control, good for a short subscription

The game is not too difficult to complete. It's one of the better platform games for the variety of moves it has in it as well as the sort of spaciousness it has (it doesn't feel like you're just going in one direction on and on). Sometimes it's hard to control the main character; it seems like he's unresponsive at times when it counts--you've got to gage when you're going to give the order for the move/attack. This adds a bit to the difficulty. Although that's a frustrating aspect of the game, it extends the length of time you'll be playing and that can be a good thing.

A great improvement over its predecessor, but with a few flaws of its own

Well. Aside from the vastly improved graphics, now just beautiful to behold, what else strikes me about Warrior Within is the fundamental gameplay improvement. The combat has a lot of added depth, what with the dual scimitars the Prince now wields. Combination moves, improved enemy intelligence(some of them even teleported, seemingly , and landed behind me), and a puzzle structure that is seemingly more combat-oriented make this game much more faster-paced for those who like it that way. Yet the platforming sections retain their fun and challenge. The new checkpoint save system means it's much more forgiving than its predecessor, a forgivable trade-off. What is not forgivable, and what hampers the game somewhat are the short length( I beat it in maybe 3 hours, very fast for me), and the controls, which either take too long to respond or are downright unresponsive. But on the whole, the best mobile game i have ever played.

Fun platforming and killing action.

Summary

I loved prince of persia: the sands of time, thats why i was disappointed that ubisoft had to take this series to a darker, more mature level. I feel that the Prince of Persia series was fine the way it was and it didnt need to be changed. I had fun with Warrior within and i must say that this is a fine addition to the series. The graphics on warrior within are fantastic, and the killing effects look sweet, i love slashing people and seeing blood come out. The games soundtrack though is full of cheesy, dumb ass-metal music. This game is worth a purchase at its 20 dollar price point and it should not be overlooked

I am a huge fan of the Prince of Persia game. That being said, this Mobile game did not fail to deliver. (8.25/10)

Summary

Being a gamer, and owning practically every system there is, I have oftentimes avoided the Mobile market because I just have so many...bigger...games to play on other systems. I got bored one day though and decided to look up ratings on Mobile games and decided to download a couple of the higher rated games for my phone. This was one of them.

First off, the game looks fantastic. There are only about 2-3 different environments but they all look great and have enough detail to make you take notice but not to distract you. The characters, while also somewhat limited in variety look great as they are and the animations are usually pretty fluid. I will say that for a cell phone game, this definitely did impress me. The effects are nice and the art is crisp and clear.

The sound, as I have always found in cell phone games, is extremely lacking. The main menu jingle is nice, and the minimal sound effects are generally well placed, but in truth the sound in this game is mostly non-existent.

The game plays fantastically though. The story is simple, but keeps you going, loosely following the story of its console brethren. The cutscenes are told through little monologues with Temptresses of Time (when you play you will see) and little monologues with the Prince during gameplay. They are well-placed.

The controls are well-done as well. You move with the basic keys (4, 6), jump or block depending on whether you swords are drawn or not with 2, jump or do acrobatic attacks (3, 1), attack with 5, crouch with 8, draw your swords and stop time. The neat thing about this game is that as you continue through the game, you unlock all sorts of combos and finishing moves that give the combat some actual depth. The enemies are varied enough to force you to actually change up your combat style as you play and the controls are very responsive to boot. Even better are the fun platforming segments that capture the fun and feel of the console brethren while still remaining functional on a cell phone.

Unfortunately, this game is extremely short (a nod towards the console versions), and will likely not take you more than a couple hours max to beat. Still, it is fun for every minute you spend. As a bonus, is an Arena mode you unlock (completely unlock I mean) after beating the game which is basically a nonstop fight against a ton of enemies. It is a great way to test your skills, and you unlock a neat little bonus from doing that as well.

All in all, this game offers much more than any cell phone game I have ever played. It is extremely fun, responsive, looks great and actually gives you reason to come back and keep playing after completion (and I don't count the puzzle games, because they are meant to be played infinitely). If there is one action game you buy for your cell phone, make it this one. Enjoy.
